Learn the characteristics, strengths, weaknesses of the stone.

Pick one purpose / job to be associated with the stone.

Likewise, if you have stones that have been sitting around for a while unused, you may notice that the stone's energy feels flat or even non-existent, in that case or if the job you gave a stone has been completed, you will want to cleanse and recharge them.

You may charge your stones with your energy alone or may ask for assistance by calling upon your guides, your counsel, your anscestors or even the Universe. If you have a particular diety, angel, or being you prefer to work with you may call upon them for assistance.

Now you are ready to charge your stone.

Sit comfortably and relax for a few minutes. Concentrate on your intent and focus your energies. Determine what energies you wish to charge your stone with.

Hold the stone in your left hand cover with your right hand. Hands at sacral chakra. Focus your intent and direct your energy upon the stone.

Visualize energy pouring through you and into the stone. Visualize the stone glowing in your hands. State: "Begining here and now, your job is ... " You fill in the blank as to what the stone's job is.

When you begin to "feel" the stone pulsate with energy the stone is charged. Remember to thank and release all those who you asked to assist you in charging your stones.

Work with the item regularly to keep the energy flowing.
